The Supporting Forest Guardians project is seeking to secure €496,555 of funding from the Nationale Postcode Loterij over a period of 24 months to develop, test, and make freely available simple, low-cost open-source tools and methodologies that can be contextualized and used directly by smallholders, local communities and Indigenous Peoples across the globe to identify, manage, and protect the forests and high conservation values that may exist in their lands.
This funding would enable a major contribution to tropical forest conservation by empowering smallholders and communities to distinguish the forest in their land worth preserving from the lands to be used for sustainable commodity production, as part of their livelihoods, thus enabling their inclusion worldwide in deforestation free and socially responsible supply chains of commodities linked to deforestation in productive tropical forest landscapes.

Our design proposal for The Supporting Forest Guardians project is guided by the principles of accessibility, inclusivity, and effectiveness. We envision a visually engaging and informative proposal document that effectively communicates the project’s goals, methodology, and anticipated outcomes to potential funders, stakeholders, and partners.
